Background

Brandi Page, M.D., is an assistant professor of radiation oncology and molecular sciences for Johns Hopkins Radiation Oncology Department at Suburban Hospital and a radiation oncologist at the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center at Sibley Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Page has expertise in treating all types of cancer and is especially interested in advanced treatment of brain tumors, and head and neck cancer. She also has clinical interests in breast cancer, and palliative radiotherapy and metastatic cancer.

In Dr. Page's role with Johns Hopkins Head and Neck Radiotherapy Service, she has brought new complex radiotherapy services to the facility, as well as patient care services including pain medication management, nasopharyngolaryngoscopy (NPL) procedures and in-clinic NPL-guided Dobhoff tube placement for head and neck patients. As the team leader for central nervous system and stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), Dr. Page commissioned and broke ground with the first SRS case treated on Jan. 19, 2016. She also serves as the quality improvement coordinator and cancer liaison physician at Suburban Hospital for the American Cancer Society.

Dr. Page earned her medical degree at Albany Medical College. She completed a residency in radiation oncology at the Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah, followed by a fellowship in translational radiation oncology at Wake Forest University Medical Center, where she earned the Service Excellence in Patient Care Award. Dr. Page previously served as a research associate at San Francisco Brain Research Institute and a clinical trials coordinator for the University of California-San Francisco's Department of Child Psychiatry.

Dr. Page is a member of the American Society of Radiation Oncology-Supportive and Palliative Radiation Oncology Committee (ASTRO-SPRO), focused on clinical research and education. She is also a diplomate of the American Board of Radiology, as well as a member of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiation Oncology and the American Radium Society. Dr. Page also serves on the board of directors for Radiating Hope.

Dr. Page's recent research interests focus on clinical trial design, cancer survivorship, and cognition and cancer research. She has contributed to publications, articles, posters and lectures. In the past, she has studied mitigation of long-term toxicity and improving long-term survivorship issues in head and neck cancer patients, and patients receiving radiotherapy for brain tumors. Dr. Page has also studied translational research with respect to local and distant brain failure after stereotactic radiosurgery. Dr. Page is on the editorial board for Contemporary Radiation Oncology and ASTRO - Advances in Radiation Oncology. She has previously served as an editor for Frontiers in Bioscience and Cancer Investigation.
