As an academic medical center, part of our mission is to train the next generation of pediatric specialists. In the Maternal, Fetal & Neonatal Institute, we train residents through the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Residency Program and the University of South Florida Health Morsani College of Medicine program. We are a training site for neonatal nurse practitioner students, pharmacy students and a number of other educational programs.

This three-year, ACGME accredited program (National Resident Matching Program Fall match) offers a dynamic learning experience with an innovative simulation-based training and robust clinical exposure to the highest complexity cases, all fostered by a collaborative and learner-centric environment.

Neonatal Outreach

The staff at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit conducts a series of outreach educational programs within our community and internationally. Lectures, workshops, simulation boot camps and conferences are designed to educate the community of pediatricians to become updated with recent advances in neonatal care.

Nightwatch Foundation

Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital is collaborating with The Nightwatch Foundation to bring best practices to hospitals in Central America and the Caribbean. Johns Hopkins All Children’s spearheads the educational component for the program, training nurses in essential low-cost practices proven to have a strong positive impact on the survival rate of pre-term babies. Our pilot program is the first step to reducing neonatal mortality in these highly affected areas. The course focuses on enhancing the nurses’ technical skills and knowledge of patient and family-centered care. The first class will train up to 12 neonatal nurses from four hospitals in Guatemala City.
