Kimberly Willis

Kimberly Willis joined the team in September 2023 and is the Executive Director of Development for the Departments of Neurology & Brain Sciences and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. In this role she provides strategy and vision to ensure philanthropic support to both departments in close partnership with the department directors and other faculty members and clinicians. She is passionate about partnering with donors to support the work of faculty, clinicians and students who are dedicated to patient care and groundbreaking research.

Kimberly has been at Johns Hopkins for over 20 years and in her most recent role was the Senior Director of Development at the Whiting School of Engineering. Prior to becoming a front-line fundraiser, she spent 10 years in alumni relations, volunteer engagement and event management.

Kimberly received her B.S. in Marketing from the University of Maryland, College Park. She is a member of the development committee for her alma mater, Mercy High School, and coaches middle school volleyball. Kimberly resides in Baltimore, MD with her husband and three of her four children.

Kaylin Kopcho

Kaylin Kopcho joined the neurology development team in November 2014. She connects the passions of individuals and organizations with philanthropic investment opportunities in the division of advanced clinical neurology, division of neuroimmunology and neurological infections, and the division of Parkinson’s disease and movement disorders. Additionally, Kaylin serves as the department’s principal gifts officer, focused on establishing and maintaining philanthropic relationships that may result in transformative philanthropy and/or align with strategic initiatives of the director and special projects. She previous served as senior associate director of development, managing and mentoring both frontline fundraising and operations team members.

Before joining Hopkins, Kopcho was a major gifts officer for Penn State’s Smeal College of Business, the director of development for the Gladys W. and David H. Patton College of Education at Ohio University, and a program manager for Ruffalo Noel Levitz. She got her start in higher education philanthropy as a student fundraiser, trainer and supervisor at Penn State Lion Line.

Kopcho graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with a B.Ph. focused on pharmacology. She wrote a thesis exploring the impact of the off-label usage and fast-tracking of the approval process for certain cox-2 inhibitors. Currently, she serves on the board of directors for Roland Park Place as a member of the strategic planning and philanthropy committees.

Gina Scalise joined the neurology development team in February 2018 as a senior associate director. In her role, she serves as a knowledgeable advocate for the neuromuscular, vestibular, epilepsy, headache and neuro-oncology divisions, working with individuals and organizations to connect their interests with philanthropic opportunities.

Gina brings fourteen years of development experience to this position with proficiency in annual, major and planned giving, marketing and communications, stewardship, event planning and volunteer management. Before joining the team, Gina worked as an associate director at Rochester Regional Health in Rochester, NY. She worked with grateful patients to support the neuroscience and orthopaedic service lines. Prior to this role, Gina spent several years in higher education advancement at the State University of New York at Geneseo, holding progressively senior roles in annual giving, major giving and leadership giving.

Angel Terol joined the neurology development team in January 2020. As a senior associate director of development, she connects individuals and organizations with philanthropic investment opportunities in the divisions of pediatric neurology, cerebrovascular diseases, sleep and neurocritical care.

Angel brings 19 years of development experience to this position and is highly skilled in various aspects of fundraising, including major gifts, campaign and volunteer management, stewardship and donor relations, corporate and foundation relations, and prospect research and relationship management.

Before coming to Johns Hopkins, she was the campaign director for the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO), overseeing daily operations for the $65 million Campaign for the BSO’s Second Century. Prior to working for the orchestra, she held senior development positions at the Maryland Institute College of Art, the Baltimore Museum of Art and the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. She began her fundraising career in the health care sector, working for the Greater Baltimore Medical Center Foundation in Towson, Maryland.

Jessica Lynn joined the neurology team in January of 2023 as assistant director of development. In her role, she works closely with the team in the stewardship of donors and volunteers, including the planning and execution of stewardship events, and the distribution of marketing and communication materials. With more than 10 years of experience working in higher education, Jessica is highly skilled in administrative coordination, project management and customer service.

Jessica has been with Johns Hopkins University since the fall of 2015, working in various administrative coordination roles across the university. Most recently, she worked centrally providing executive administrative support in the Office of the Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations. She holds a Bachelor and Master of Arts degree in music, and periodically performs as a vocal soloist in the Baltimore-Washington Metropolitan area.

Donna Marck joined the neurology development team in September 2019 as a development coordinator. In her role as senior development coordinator, she manages administrative activities and serves as the lead data specialist for the Department of Neurology development staff members. Donna brings extensive administrative experience to the development team. Before joining the neurology department, she worked with the federal government on a joint National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration/NASA polar satellite program.

Kalman Bokow joined the neurology development team in March 2023 as a development coordinator. He is responsible for gift processing, administration and acknowledgement, and supports the office in data-related needs. Before coming to Hopkins, Kalman studied at Goucher College in Towson, Maryland where he earned a history major with honors and a minor in Arabic studies. He specialized in the history of the Southwest Asian and North African (SWANA) regions, the Iranian-American diaspora and contributed to an investigation of the history of slavery on Goucher’s campus called “The Hallowed Ground Project.” In his spare time, he enjoys cooking, mixology and drumming.
