Izumi Asano, Pharm.D.

Izumi Asano

Dr. Izumi Asano is originally from Manhattan, Kansas. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Studies and Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy. Dr. Asano’s professional interests include primary care, home health, and patient education. Upon completion of her PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency, Dr. Asano plans to pursue a PGY-2 in Ambulatory Care. Ultimately, Dr. Asano plans to become a board-certified ambulatory care pharmacist and precept students and residents. In her free time, Dr. Asano enjoys crocheting, virtually catching up with friends and family, trying out new coffee shops, and exploring parks and trails. Dr. Asano would like to thank her family, friends, and mentors for their endless support, love, and encouragement.

Brian Hurdle, Pharm.D.

Brian Hurdle, Pharm.D.

Originally from Uniondale, NY, Dr. Brian L. Hurdle earned a bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience from the University of Pittsburgh and a master’s degree in Public Health from Drexel University with a concentration in Epidemiology and Biostatistics. He is a recent recipient of a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Howard University College of Pharmacy. His career interests include patient equity, transitions of care, ambulatory care disease state management, medication therapy management, compounding, and data analysis. In his spare time, he hangs out with his family, enjoys travel, woodworking, automotive repair, and baseball. Dr. Hurdle would like to thank his wife, family, friends, mentors, and advisors for their unwavering love and support.

Laurel Uhomba, Pharm. D.

Dr. Laurel Uhomba is originally from Birmingham, AL. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Studies degree, followed by a dual Doctorate of Pharmacy and Master of Public Health degree from Samford University. Dr. Uhomba is in her first year of the two-year Community Pharmacy Administration and Leadership (CPAL) Residency at Johns Hopkins Care at Home, which includes completing a Master of Business Administration degree at the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School. She has also been appointed to serve as Vice Chair of the Advocacy and Practice Advancement Advisory Group within the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Pharmacy Administration and Leadership Residents’ Collaborative (PALRC). Dr. Uhomba has a passion for uplifting underserved communities and offering equitable resources to patients. Her professional interests include ambulatory care, infectious diseases, 340B, DEI, legislation, association management, and clinical management. In her spare time, she enjoys playing sports (especially soccer), gracelessly dancing, and meeting new friends.
