Diversity Scholarship
The Johns Hopkins Department of Orthopaedic Surgery invites medical students who are women or members of underrepresented communities and are interested in pursuing a career in orthopaedic surgery to apply for their fourth-year medical student clerkship at our institution.
Scholarship Includes:
- One-month clinical clerkship
- Mentorship by Department of Orthopaedic Surgery faculty member
- Financial assistance
Students must be eligible to participate in clinical rotations at their home medical school. Clerkships are only available to medical students attending LCME-approved U.S. and Canadian medical schools and who are female or who meet the AAMC definition of underrepresented minority groups. Once accepted, mentorship is provided by Department of Orthopaedic Surgery faculty members during the clerkship, as well as financial assistance (*$500 registration fee waiver, $500 stipend for the month-long rotation).
